My New School

Okay, I'm sorry I haven't been updating for a while. I am going to catch up on my blogging! OKAY, LET'S GO! I'm going to tell you about my school. It's kinda hard to describe, but, oh well. Here goes. At my school there is only ONE classroom. A large classroom which is shared by 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders. I am in 6th Grade as you know and so I'm with all the little new people at the school...... which is A LOT of the school. Which is, by the way, a Montessori school. LOCATED at the POLK MUSEUM OF ART!!!! It's SOOO cool! I have made TONS of new friends at my school, here's a list of my friends.... be prepared for it to be LONG:

Part 1 of Chapter 1

I'm writing a story, here is Part 1 of the first chapter!

'Life. It's good, it's bad. It's happy, it's sad. That's life, and I'm alive. I have to deal with it. I must wake up every morning, live through the day, and go back to sleep. Same thing everyday. Since it's everyday, this is one of them. I open my eyes and roll over. Boom! I sit up quickly and find myself on the ground. I push myself of the ground and stand. I hear the pounding of running footsteps dashing to my room.

"Raina!" My mom opens the doors swiftly, a worried look clear on her face. It's not the first time I've fallen of the side of my bed. It's somewhat of a tradition for me. My mom, on the other hand, looks as if I've fallen off the side of a cliff.

"I'm fine, mom!"

"Are you sure?"

"I'm alright!"

She looks at me one last time and goes back outside, closing the door behind her.'

Snorkeling

Today I went Snorkeling for the very first time! It was really fun. My friend Manuel and his family went with me and my mom. I saw many different types of Coral and Fish. I don't know the kinds of Coral I saw, except for a Brain Coral, the only one I recognized amongst the many Coral, and there was only one. Manuel and a few of his family members saw a barracuda. My mom and I saw REALLY BIG Parrot Fish and other fish as well. I noticed a fish that looked like it was lying down in a flat section of coral. I wanted to take a picture, but my waterproof camera wasn't steady from the waves and I couldn't get it to work. I figured it out later with the help of my mom, but by then we were far from the fish. When there was around five minutes left to snorkel my snorkel came out of my mouth, this had happened before a few times, and so I raised my head to fix it and get all the salt water out of my mouth, but my goggles started getting all messed up. They started to slide around my face, going up over my eyes and getting lots of salty water in my eyes, which REALLY STINGS, and then my mom helped me get them back on right and they went down under my eyes. I couldn't see because I kept my eyes closed to make sure no more ocean water could get in them and i kept my mouth closed so none of the ocean water could go into it so I felt like I wasn't capable of doing anything. I held my mom's hand and told me to kick, so of course, I kicked and now that I was moving she started to guide me back to the ship. When we made it I took my goggles and flippers off and I wiped my eyes and opened them. They felt a lot better. I went up the ladder to get into the boat and Manuel was already on. He told us that the boat was going to leave soon so we shouldn't go back in the water. After Snorkeling we went to a beach and swam there and saw a re-creation of a spanish shipwreck in the water and more fish. I swam over EIGHT schools of fish. We had a wonderful time. I will never forget my first time Snorkeling.

The Hunger Games and Catching Fire

The two books The Hunger Games and Catching Fire are the first two books of a trilogy. I read these books during my trip to Miami to see Grandma Wilbur.

The Hunger Games is a book about a girl named Katniss Everdeen and she lives in a place called Distric 12 or The Seam in part of a country that is where a place called North America was. Every year in each of the districs they have a reaping where kids 12-18 put their names in a bowl, one for girls one for boys. They draw one name from each bowl and the names drawn are the names of the kids who have to enter the annual Hunger Games, where the two children picked from each distric 1-12 must fight every child, including the other person in their distric, to the death. I won't tell you everything that happens, but Katniss gets put into the Hunger Games.

In Catching Fire Katniss finds herself in the Hunger Games yet again, but the plot isn't just about that. There is much, much more going on than anyone can imagine.

Bad Events In Percy's Early Life:

A very young Percy Jackson was having a nap at a nursery school when a snake slithered up to him. No one knew until his mom came to pick him up and found Percy playing with the dead snake which he had strangled.

In third grade a man in a black trenchcoat stalked him on the playground. When the teachers threatened to call the police he went away growling. No one believed Percy when he told them the man only had one eye in the middle of his forehead.

Expelled:

Percy has had trouble with school for as long as he can remember. By age twelve he'd been to six schools in as many years because he kept getting kicked out. He'd been diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD, but those weren't his only obstacles - inexplicable things had happened to him at school and on field trips.

Percy's Blunders:

In fourth grade his class went on the behind-the-scenes tour of the Marine World shark pool. Percy hit the wrong lever by the catwalk they were walking along, and the whole class took an unplanned swim with sharks.

In fifth grade he visited the Saratoga battlefield and had an accident involving a Revolutionary War cannon. He claimed he wasn't aiming for the school bus, bit it took direct hit anyway, and that meant yet another expulsion.

The Trip to End All Trips:

Percy's sixth grade feild trip was with his classmates at Yancy Academy. They visited the Metropolitan Museum. It was there that the extraordinary events began which eventually led Percy to Camp Half-blood (Half-blood means the same as Demigod)

What happened was that his math teacher, Mrs. Dodds, transformed into a shriveled hag with yellow fangs (a furry) and attacked Percy. Mr. Brunner, Percy's latin teacher, threw him a ball-point pen that turned into a bronze word in Percy's hand. One swing and the metal blade passes clean through his math teachers body.

Mrs. Dodds was a sand castle in a power fan. She exploded into yellow powder, vaporized on the spot, leaving nothing behind but the smell of sulphur and a dying screech and a chill of evil in the air, as if those two glowing red eyes were still watching me.

Oliver and Pumpkin-Bear Get the Cookie Off the Counter

One day mommy got up and said, "Oliver, stay here and be good. I'm going to do the laundry." Oliver responded, "OK.", while mommy went upstairs. After a few minutes Oliver said, "Pumpkin-Bear, let's get the cookie off the counter!" and walked into the kitchen, Pumpkin following behind. Oliver jumped up trying to reach the counter, failing each time. He pulled Pumpkin over and said, "Pumpkin-Bear! Stand Here and let me climb on you!" Pumpkin stationed herself in front of the counter and Oliver climbed on. Pumpkin stayed still until she noticed her food bowl and started walking over, making Oliver collapse on the ground, "Pumpkin-Bear!" Oliver sat to think for a few seconds and then ran over to pull a chair towards the counter. He climbed on the chair and grabbed the cookie. Oliver jumped down and said, "Pumpkin-Bear, I got it!" Pumpkin ran over and grabbed the cookie in her mouth. She ran under the table and ate the cookie leaving crumbs everywhere. Mommy came downstairs and saw the mess and asked, "Who ate the cookie?" Oliver looked at pumpkin, pointed and said, "Baa-aad Pumpkin-Bear."

Graduating From 5th Grade

Last thursday was the last day of school for me and my friends. We graduated at 9:00 AM and left at 10:30 AM while everyone else was in the classrooms for the rest of the day. I'm going to a different middle school than most of my friends next year so every time i sayed goodbye and hugged someone I would tear up a little. My friends mean a whole lot to me and its hard leaving them every summer. This time its even harder because I might not ever get to see some of them again. Even though I'm losing a few of my friends, I know I will make some more during middle school. Leaving elementary school will be an adventure. I have many different feelings about middle school, I am excited because I'm going to start middle school, happy because I will meet new people and learn new things, and sad because I am leaving the school where all my memeries from the past 6 years are and because I am leaving my friends, as I said before. I'd like to thank my family for always being there for me and helping me through the tough times at school and at home. I'd also like to thank my friends for always trying to make me feel better when I'm sad and playing with me during recess when I could just be sitting under a tree.

Hot Dogs

Two nights ago my uncle, aunt, mom and I ate hot dogs. They were delicious. We ate the hot dogs with dry beef chili on the top. My Hot Dog bun broke on the bottom and chili messily spilled all over my plastic plate. I also ate another half of a hot dog and it was much better. I ate chips and dip with my hot dog and sprinkled some left over chili in the dip and dipped the chips in it. It tasted like the best thing in the world after eating the chili dry. I thought that dry was good enough, but it got better.

Bacon

Bacon is so good. With chocolate syrup on a stick it is delicious! You think that is strange, right? I knew it! Let's put it this way. How about Deep-Fried Bacon on a stick draped with yummy chocolate syrup. O.k. It does sound strange. I had some though. Yesterday I went to the strawberry festival with my mom and one of her friends. We had so much fun. One thing I really thought was weird was Deep-Fried Pickles. It was also pretty good. Now, back to the point. Really, bacon any way you make it can be so good! Some ways I think are or would be good are with eggs, pancakes, like I have said, on a stick, deep-fried, chocolate covered, bacon sandwich, and bacon pizza. Yummy!

Who knew bacon could be so good? I didn't, but I sure do now. I sure love my bacon! I'm glad I have written this, but I have something you could do. My New Home

Many people like their houses. I would definitely be one of those many people because of my NEW home! I love my good and beautiful new home for many reasons!! I will talk about a few of them for you right now!! One good quality of my new and brilliant home is that it has many closets!Having closets I think is a great way to store items that you don't need at the moment. I said at the moment because things that you don't need you could just sell!! I love my house because off carpeting!!! Oh, beautiful carpeting!!! I also LOVE My new clean room!!!! It is just splendid!!! Getting a new home is fun AND NOW I LIVE IN ONE!

My terrible day :..(...

Started at: sometime around 6:00

I was driving home today from my grandparents house and when I got home there was a package for me! I opened the package and found a birthday card and stuffed animal from my great grandmother. I felt so good and was amazingly happy! I wanted to get on the computer to put my little animal online. My furry friend was a webkinz so it lets you play with it online! I had to wait to get on the computer and after a while I had gotten impatient and I ran into my room and waited on my bed for maybe 15-30 seconds then came back out and waited on the couch for what felt like forever but could of been two or three minutes and finally I tried to turn it on and it was dead so I had to find the charger. I plugged it in and tried to go online and I couldn't get it to work so my mom had to do a few things to it and restart it and I tried again.................IT DIDN'T WORK!! My mom fixed it and I tried to put my fluffy friend online....Loading.....Loading....It let me do everything I had to do except SCROLLING!!! :( so I decided to quit ): My mom walked into the kitchen and saw that my pets/sea monkeys were gone! Then my mom broke a glass! Then she went into her room and lied down and I went in after her and I tripped on the computer charger! (I did this twice!!!) After that I started to feel bad since all those things had happened and ran into my mom's room again and cried on the pillow!! :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( This is a sad but true story......... :D I'm glad that's over. :D

Panda's sad story

I have some really sad news. Panda died on July 22, 2009 11 o'clock P.M. I loved her so much! She was a black and white cat. She was going to be 20 years of age august first. She was an adorable cat. I've always loved to pet her soft fur and snuggle with her. She is my grandma's cat. My mom was my age when they got her. She was a stray cat. I really really miss her. My uncle called and said she was dying so me , my mom , and my grandma all said our good-byes to her and she listened then died once I said my last word. I'll never in my life forget her. I love her so so so much!!!!!! I'm crying as I right this sad story. I love her so so so so super much!!! I'm in Maine right now and my grandma is leaving on plane to go home tomorrow. I miss her so very very much! <3 <3

The visit to philadelphia!!!

Me , my grandma , and my mom are in Philadelphia! We are in a hotel called The Hilton Garden Inn. Website: Hilton garden inn Philadelphia You don't need to put in .com or .org or anything like that. There is a T.V. , coffee maker , mini fridge , Sony PlayStation , Desk , and two bed's!!!! It's so cool!!!! I hope I can come here again sometime. We've stayed for two days and we're leaving tomorrow. I don't want to leave but I still want to complete my long month long trip. I'm having lots of fun!!! Got to go.
